Another swimsuit post (the first one here)… I’m not going to lie, it’s so nerve-racking to share these.  I’m not a model, definitely not a swimsuit model, and with my day job + blog schedule, I never get to exercise as much as I’d like. But I love to see real girls with their real curves showing their swimsuit style. So here we are – baring all!

I don’t feel comfortable in teeny tiny Brazilian bikinis, nor do I feel comfortable loungin’ all day in a swimsuit in front of strangers.  This is where a big, floppy hat and adorable coverup come into play.  I always like to accessorize my suit with a flowy, open coverup so I can still get some sun while showing just enough skin.  If I’ve got the right accessories, I go from self-conscious to confident in a beautiful coverup that flows with the breeze. This floral one is catches the beach winds so well and I loved wearing it during our little Laguna staycation.

Below are some of my favorite coverups for summer. What makes you feel confident when you’re baring all in a swimsuit?  I’d love to hear – I welcome all of your feedback! Thanks so much for reading – XO –

  1. Kathleen you look absolutely amazing, as always. Seeing pictures of real woman in their beautiful swimwear makes me feel so proud of women who are confident enough to do it and so proud to be a woman! Xo

    1. I’m so glad we feel the same way about real girls. It’s so much easier to look to real people on swim style than a catalog for me!! XO to you!!

  2. As a slightly older woman who follows your blog, I can say that you are the epitome of classy and sexy. Your swimsuit ensembles included! Even at my age, I love to spend time in the sun and a cute cover up, flip flops, hat and bag (not to mention a fabulous beach towel) are a must! Your figure is just darling in your swimsuits!
Keep the “Sunny Day” ideas coming –

    1. Oh my gosh, Lisa, that means so much to me! Thank you so much for reading and for your kindness. You’ve definitely made my day!!

  3. You’re stunning! And while you may not be a swimsuit model by trade, you look seriously stunning/amazing. I would kill for your “normal girl” body any day lady! You look like you belong on those rocks, such a mermaid! One of the main reasons your blog has ALWAYS been a fav. of mine (and one of the first I ever read) was because you’re so real and down to Earth! Love you/it gf!

    1. I feel the same way about YOU, sister!! So glad this little blog world brought the two of us together. XO

  4. Love all the straps on your bikini top, and thank you for sharing these pics with us… you look mahhhhvelous!

  5. As always, I adore your candidness and honesty! I would be sweating bullets if I had to post teeny tiny bikini pics on my blog, regardless that I’m in relatively good shape. P.s. I recently moved full-time to Newport, and would love to grab coffee or wine if you’re interested!

    1. Thank you so much Joelle! And that’s what coverups are for, right!? Congrats on the move! I’ll have to keep you posted next time we have little OC blogger happy hour! XO

  6. I personally think you look amazing and have a wonderful body. I wish I could look as good in a swimsuit as you. I feel you though…I’m not comfortable in little bikinis either (mostly cause I have big boobs and curvy thighs). They never seem to fit right so I normally opt for full coverage suits that I know I won’t fall out of. I have never been comfortable in a swimsuit, except when I was younger. I like to wear bog floppy hats too but I never thought of wear a cover up like you have. Such a great idea! I can’t wait to find one now. All your beach posts are making me have major beach envy =)
