This Friday is a little extra fun because my parents are visiting from Mississippi!  They helped me do a little painting when we moved into our townhouse last year, and they also came to Malibu for a California Christmas. This time, I’ve forced them to stay with me (my Dad is more of a hotel kind of guy) and I can’t wait to treat them to a long weekend in our neighborhood before they head to LA to hang with my brother’s family.

I’m also heavily considering dragging them to Disneyland because fun fact – my pretty serious Dr. Williams dad is actually a huge Disney fan.  I went four times as a kid with my family and recently took Christian to Disneyland for his second Disney trip.  Now that I’ve been at least once here in California I feel like I have a better idea of where everything is, what is and isn’t worth the wait and so on so… I’m pretty pumped to go back with my parents (and also to let them pay for it… because I am the youngest child and can still use the “help me I’m poor,” as I’m pretty sure I’m still 18 in their eyes).  I’m sure you’ll see some Mickey ears on instagram if we head that way!

What do you guys have planned this weekend?  Or are you still recovering from last weekend’s festivities?  Thanks so much for reading – I always love reading and replying to your comments! XO –

PS – Thanks so much to P.S. I’m from the Midwest for this adorable feature!  Hollyn is such a doll, and it was a privilege to participate in her Catching Up With series.  Y’all check it out and give sweet Hollyn some virtual web love!

  1. Sounds like you have a fun weekend planned! Love the flamingo float but after our swan wing popped this last weekend I vowed to never buy another float again for our pool…TGIF!

  6. I get to work all weekend…yay. I hope you do drag them to Disneyland because right now they are doing the Diamond Celebration (60 years) and everything is diamond themed! Even the castle is bedazzled. I was there a few days ago and it was so adorable.

    1. Ok so A) boo to working on the weekend and B) I’ve HEARD about this 60th anniversary thing… but do you think it means it will be crazy crowded!? Did you guys have a great time or did you want to punch people?

      1. It wasn’t that crowded but I went during the week. It will probably be crowded on the weekend but I don’t think it will be unbearable. It usually gets really bad around mid-June. I have an annual pass and come June I don’t really go because of the crowds. If you guys go you should definitely utilize as many fastpasses as you can to make the most out of your day. The decorations in the park are so pretty; everything sparkles and is blue. I actually write about Disneyland on HubPages and just did a post about it. If you want to check it out here is the link: http://lyndsaygamber.hubpages.com/hub/60-Magical-Years-At-Disneyland

        1. Thanks for the advice!! I’m going to read your post for sure. I’ve been checking the mousewait app and it hasn’t looked that bad – we plan to go on Monday 6/1 so hopefully we will be ok!!

  7. Okay, Betty the Flamingo is worth a comment! She is hilarious!
I’ve been reading your blog for a while, and you are one of the few people who seems herself while blogging. I mean, I am a stranger, and I only know what you post online, but it seems like you are genuinely funny, kind, and have a serious love for food (that’s my highest compliment!) Also, your mom keeps it real in the comments. Anyway, keep on being your cute self!
    Creeper, over and out.

    1. Thank you SO much for these sweet words. Honestly – your comment made my weekend! Lol-ing on the food/mom part. Thanks for the kindness and for reading – honestly, it means so much to me that people take the time out of their day to stop by. XO
