antebellum home in columbus mississippi

Back at it with round two after yesterday’s post with some of my Southern photos!  These photos were snapped in my hometown of Columbus (more about that here), my parents hometown of Greenwood and a little from New Orleans in the beginning of the trip.

I think something I tend to forget about regarding the South is the incredible homes.  I’m talking drop your jaw, breathtaking, The Notebook kind of homes. That is just a kind of charm you can’t deny!

Thank you guys so much for following along this super fun time!  You guys know I’m the papparazzi taking so many photos all of the time, so it’s really fun to compile them together and share with y’all. I can’t thank my parents enough for taking so many photos for me during these past few weeks – seriously, I would have been lost without their help!

In the meantime, I’m coming at you guys with a super California post tomorrow (photographed by my friend Nikki), so talk about one vibe to another! Thanks again for reading – XO –

PS – be sure to check out my 2019 Tour de South coverage here!

  1. There is so much to comment on here… The houses are amazing and that white kitchen is my dream!
But let’s get to the jumpers. Besides a maxi dress, that I could live in, jumpers are my second favorite! They are so gorgeous and fun… However…. This weekend I had on my favorite jumper and after a few hours I noticed my back side was feeling saggy… Looked in the mirror and it looked like I was wearing a diaper!!! WTH?! I asked my family if this always happens when I wear my jumper?? They just giggled… I’m so sad! I washed it and dried it hot to see if I can keep it from stretching out so much! And now I wonder if all of my jumpers look like that by the end of the day… Crap. First world problems. Grrrrr ?

    1. Oh no! For all I know this happens to me too… I guess I’ve never looked at my backside to see? Well… that’s what tying a chambray top around your waist is for sometimes!

  2. There’s just somethin’ ’bout the South, Kat, that makes your photos more real, more timeless, more substantive than anything taken in LA or NYC… my own bias of course!

  3. I just saw the Post Ranch Inn (in Big Sur) on your Instagram. My husband and I stayed there last week and it was INCREDIBLE. Highly, highly recommend!

    1. HA! Oh my gosh how amazing! But I can’t get over the price tag for a treehouse… do I just need to get over it!?

  4. I am from Mississippi too. Do you think you would ever move back to Mississippi or the south after being gone for so long?

  5. Greenwood? My daddy was born in Clarksdale, and I have dozens of cousins there, most of whom went to Ole Miss! It’s good to see “home” in your blog–and to see you show people how to dress for the heat and humidity!
