Happy Friday! I’ve had a quiet and peaceful week in California, using my time at home to do those really fun things like clean out the laundry room and my 190343489987 bottles of beauty lotions and potions in the bathroom. I’ve become that woman who waits until Christian gets home exhausted at 10PM, and I’m like, “hey honey – look at this drawer I organized!!!” Luckily, I married a man who (even if he’s totally faking it), high-fives me and admires my newly organized drawer with me.

I’ve had a little something to help me with the purging… a few new podcasts. If you have been reading CBL for a while, you probably know that I can fall really deep in true crime anything. The People v. O.J. Simpson, the JonBenét Ramsey CBS Special, Serial Podcast, documentaries, The Night Of… this is probably not good for someone like me to do who is often home, alone – but I can’t get enough. Thanks to this blog post, I started listing to this podcast, which led me to this podcast, which led me to a listening binge of true crime podcasts.

As for the weekend, I, again, have no plans and am thrilled about it. Next weekend I have some special wedding anniversary plans with my guy, so I kind of love that I have some time to look forward to it rather than blindly wandering into the next to-do on my calendar!

Tell me your weekend plans – and if you also love falling into a true crime tunnel, I need to hear about it! And if you’re interested in some serious beauty swag, be sure to enter yesterday’s giveaway. Thanks so much for reading! XO –

  1. I don’t really have anything planned for the weekend, it’s gonna be a boring one. But you just gave me an idea! I might reorganize everything in my room. And I love crime podcasts. Ever since I listened to Serial I’ve been hooked.

  2. Kathleen – have you watched “The Fall” on Netflix? Also, there is a podcast called Real Crime Profile that is my favorite!!!

  3. I love crime stories too! I am assuming you’ve heard about it, but Criminal is a great podcast that goes into new topics every episode with one thing that has to do with crime. Could be an actual murder story or just talking to a police man and how they train the police dogs – so interesting! Thought I would share just in case 🙂 Can’t wait to try out your suggestions on my commute! I love when you suggest tv shows and podcasts since I feel like we have oddly similar interests… Real Housewives, Parenthood, crime stories… all the best! Have a great weekend!

    1. I’ve just started listening!! I have only listened to one episode so far, but I can’t wait to dive deeper. Thank you for the suggestion! And if you love Real Housewives, you MUST listen to Bitch Sesh. It is seriously laugh out loud hilarious.

  4. As I was reading I was like “I have to comment and tell her about My Favorite Murder!!” and then clicked on the link… Are you not freaking obsessed?!?! Emily had talked about it before on her blog but I’d never given it a listen until she brought it up again in that post and ever since I’ve been listening on my walks to and from work. Except for when I get off a bit later and it’s dark on the way home, no no no, did that one time and never again! It’s so amazing and the hosts are just hilarious and I love how easily they play off one another.

  5. Is the toothbrush the only thing you’ve tried from vanity planet? I just ordered the ultimate skin spa system and I’m excited to try it out!

  6. YAAASSS GIRL! True crime podcasts are where it’s at ??. I listened to Someone Knows Something and was left feeling a little dissatisfied. I LOVED Serial season 1 (obv), and love the second season of Undisclosed ( highly recommend it if you haven’t started it yet, it’s not necessary to listen to season one). I also love love love The Accused and In the Dark. I listen to Crime Writers On, which is pretty funny and is always talking about OJ/JonBenet/crime of the moment and recommending new true crime podcasts! I’ve actually been working on a post about my love for true crime podcasts but keep finding new ones to listen too! I’m about to start Phoebes Fall which takes place in Melbourne. Happy listening!!!!!

  7. Such a great post and pictures! I’m just like you after spending hours cleaning out my room or beauty collection – I beam with so much excitement and accomplishment haha!

    Have a splendid weekend!
