movies to watch on valentine's day

This is just my opinion… but I feel there are three ways to go on Valentine’s Day when it comes to movies. A romantic comedy, a dramatic love story, or boycott the whole thing with a thriller. I made Christian go see My Bloody Valentine when we were dating because it was in 3D and that’s when 3D movies were much harder to come by. I stand by my choice!

If your plans are to get together with the girls and make popcorn, maybe a chick flick is more up your alley, but personally… I’m all about a twisted thriller on Valentine’s Day.  Is that weird!? I’m going out on a limb here by telling y’all to watch crazy suspenseful movies on a lovey-dovey holiday… but something about it is so funny to me!

Other good ones I’d recommend are Sleeping with the Enemy and Get Out. Both SO good!

Let me know what you guys like to do on Valentine’s Day – I’d love to hear your recs! Thanks so much for reading – XO –

  1. I’m with you! I went to go see Hannibal on Valentines Day with my boyfriend years ago!

  2. Oh my gosh, Gerald’s Game was so good! I did not expect how that story would end. Great choices!

  3. I prefer a thriller as well, otherwise my Husband will be making fun of the chick flick the whole time. We’re having a movie night tonight and finally going to see Wonder! Have a great Day Kat! XO

  4. These are such great choices, I adore the Notebook (although it makes me weep!) and Bridget Jones is just a classic! I would add ’10 Thing I Hate About You’ and ‘Clueless’ to this – those high school romances just get me!

  5. I went on a first date on Valentine’s Day that took me to see My Bloody Valentine. Apparently 3D movies make me very nauseous so I just sat there with my head down almost the entire time feeling like I was going to vomit. Never had a second date.

This year it will be me, a blanket, and Bridget Jones. A much better evening.

  6. My husband and I actually like to go to our Valentine’s Day dinner the night before, because I usually hate the V-Day menus every restaurant switches too! I’m not that big of a seafood eater, and I feel like that’s all restaurants serve on that day! So that’s our little tradition haha <3

  7. I personally like to be left alone on Valentines day, to be honest. My husband knows its just me. I think the mumbo jumbo BS of Valentines day is over-rated. So my perfect night is grabbing sushi with my girls, followed up by a bottle of wine, while watching my favorite show, “Wives with Knives!’ I just like to remind my husband how lucky he is to have me as an honest, caring wife. We don’t fake the funk. We are a real relationship, where every day it better me Valentines love!

  8. I’m so glad you included Valentine’s Day! It’s one of my favorite movies, but I always feel like the only person who enjoys it. I just think Taylor Swift is so ridiculous in it

  9. Surprised 50 Shades isn’t on your list considering your hubz and the main character share a name 😉 lol!! & what do you do when Christian is working for V-day?
