CBL Is Moving To…

     

My smartypants husband traveled across the country during a four-month period interviewing for residency programs. Wherever you see the little airplane, the CHBoo has interviewed in that state at least once and in some twice!  I am so proud of him for receiving over twenty interview offers and have tried to completely encourage him to go wherever he will receive the best training.  I mean…I can’t ask him to give me botox one day if I don’t think he’s good enough (kidding….but I am not kidding).

On Friday, Christian found out where he matched in Otolaryngology (ENT/ear, nose and throat) and where we will be moving for five years.

Drumroll….

We are moving to SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA!!!

Even better?  So is my brother, sister-in-law and niece, Edie!!!  Christian has matched in Otolaryngology at the University of California-Irvine and we will be in Orange County for five years.  My brother and his family will be in San Francisco for one year and then will move 45 minutes from us to the University of Southern California in Los Angeles for four years in Radiation Oncology.

Thank you so much for your warm wishes, thoughts, prayers and support.  We are so blessed with supportive families and friends and I have been overwhelmed with the love and encouragement we have received.  We are so amazed, shocked, grateful and ecstatic that the Lord has guided us to this adventure and we are looking forward to starting our marriage in the golden state!

Did I go ahead and purchase JT concert tickets in Pasadena for this summer?

Yes.

Did I listen to Katy Perry’s “California Gurls” all weekend with the sunroof down?

Yes.

Did I pull out dvds of The OC and start watching them again?

Yes.

Am I totally excited and obnoxious?

Yes.

  4. This is so awesome girl! I am so happy for you and totally envious because I want to move out there so badly! I actually used to live in Orange County (Laguna Hills) when I was little and then we moved to SC when I was 10 but California is the coolest place ever and I totally see you there!! Good luck with everything and CONGRATS!!

I live in LA too and I love love love my neighborhood which is known as “Beverly Grove” because it’s between The Grove and The Beverly Center (two shopping malls / areas) There are tons of cute, one-of-a-kind shops and boutiques, great restaurants and many within walking distance. So unique in LA to be able to walk to brunch and dinner and even to go shopping. If you want any advice on LA please reach out. I moved here 11 years ago from Miami Beach, FL !!

My little brother is also going into ENT and just found out he’ll be at Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale so not too far from y’all. I can’t wait for the spa trips when I visit him! Congrats!!!   20. Everything, literally every single thing,about this particular CBL makes me so joyful, thankful and HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY for yall. Particularly the light from within that is coming through your face and making you have a glow some would compare to the “wedding glow” or “baby glow.” Look at you girl–makin’ up yo own glow.   23. Congrats girl! My fiance got a new job in LA last year and we moved to Los Angeles from Chicago 1 year ago TODAY! I was really worried and excited and nervous and it all turned out AMAZING. I’m so glad to be in California, and it is a great state to live in and explore!

    Orange County is a big area but you will have to let me know how close you are to LA. I’ve met really amazing bloggers (http://lctreehouse.blogspot.com/) and they really helped me make friends here in Cali. If you have any questions or need recommendations (even like down to moving companies and car shipping people), please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
