red midi skirt

I recently shared how I paired a tee with a midi skirt and sneakers here.  Today I wanted to share a similar look but a little more dressed up.  This skirt is a few years old (flashback to our epic 2014 photography here), but I also have it in green and still love it, love it, love it.

Pairing something casual with something dressy is one of my favorite combos. It’s also an easy way to maximize some of the pieces you think are too dressy too wear as often.  Wear a crisp white cropped top or silk cami with this skirt and you have a formal outfit.

You can see how I wore the green version of this skirt to a family wedding here.

And scroll down for the details on this tee and tons of other Gucci look-for-less graphic tees!

Would you wear a tee with dressier skirts or dresses? I have another post coming soon showing how I knot tees over jumpsuits.  Let me know if you like these mix and match-style posts and I’ll definitely create more!

Thanks so much for reading – XO –

  1. Beautiful post! I absolutely love this outfit and the formal meets casual look going on here. It’s feminine yet not too much, and I can see how a skirt like that would be fun to play with.

  2. Today, I went to the beach with my kids. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She placed the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is entirely off topic but I had to tell someone!
