Embellished white midi dress in Hawaii.

This was one of those dresses I knew I would love as soon as I saw it.  I love wearing white in the summer, and bonus points if it’s a flowy maxi with a little color. This is the kind of summer dress dreams are made of!

The top of the dress is embellished with sequins, thick threading and all kinds of “flair.” You know I love this, but since I wore my hair down, I found my locks constantly being snagged by the embellishment.  Which meant I looked like I was fighting with a dress that was pulling my hair.  An interesting visual if you stop to think about it.  This are the things women do to look cute… I mean, WWCD (what would Carrie Bradshaw do)?

Go forward, I’ll wear my hair back… unless I one day gain the courage to get that lob I’ve wanted for a year. #haircoward

    1. I can totally see that, but didn’t think of the connection until you said it. Love that!

      1. Yes, I love it! It still feels weird washing/combing less hair, but it’s gonna be great for those summer beachy waves 🙂

        1. I know – washing the hair is when you always feel like, “whoa – I made the chop!” I’m proud of you. I’m going to eventually muster up the courage!

  1. That dress is stunning, and totally summer dress perfection. Plus it’s flowy which leaves plenty of room for sugary drinks and burritos aka my kind of dress!

You should totally go for the lob if you want it! You have such stunning hair but I always tell myself that it will grow back. I recently cut mine and I love it so much! It’s sad not being able to do all the braids etc but there are so many things that I couldn’t do with long hair that I can now do like the scrunched messy waves that when I had long hair it just got weighed down. Anyways, it’s just a fun change and I say you go for it!! Or not and keep being your drop dead gorgeous self 😉

  2. I’m wondering what your experience with sheinside has been. I’ve wanted to order from there, but I’ve heard bad reviews. Thanks!

    1. Hi Abbey! My experience has been positive. Currently, the company sends me clothing to be styled on my blog, so the shipping is very past. However, years ago I ordered items and while it took a long time to ship, once the item came I liked them. I will share that I think it’s more difficult to return, so I steer clear of fitted things and try to select items with a looser fit. Hope this helps! XO

  3. Hi CBL,
you make the outfit look so good!! If you don’t mind me asking how tall are you? am trying to get an idea of the length of the dress on me. AM 5’9″. I think the dress will be perfect for a cruise am going as I don’t want it that long anyway. Please advise

    Thanks
    Christine

    1. Hi Christine! Thanks so much for the sweetness. I am 5’7″ and this dress is more of a midi dress on me (which is what I would think it would be on you). I hope that helps!! I think it would be darling on your cruise! KXO
