Styling Stripes

I think we all love some stripes.  You can wear them so many different ways, and a great striped dress or sweater can be worn all year round.  When I’m looking for a staple closet item, Nordstrom is one of my first stops because they have a little bit over everything in every price point.

I purchased my first pair of Vince shoes from Nordstrom a year or two ago and have nearly worn them into the ground.  They are so versatile, as I find so many of their pieces, and my only regret is not getting them in a second color!

When I saw this sweater, I knew it would be a splurge but a a piece that I would wear season after season. Did I mention it’s crazy soft!?

    Fast-forward one year, and I haven’t gotten rid of any of my striped pieces because I wear them all. the. time! My favorite is a black & white striped boat-neck quarter-length tee. I think I’ve had it for about five years now, but it just goes with everything and adds the perfect touch of French femininity.

    I love the way you’ve styled this sweater. Definitely adding a Levi’s denim jacket to my wardrobe staple wishlist after seeing this one!

  5. I JUST posted my seriously love-hate relationship with stripes. While I absolutely LOVE stripes, I also hate them on me because I have an inverted triangle body type…meaning larger upper body, smaller lower body. So I feel like stripes make my upper body look even larger than it is. As such, I’m always having to wear something over stripes which can be annoying sometimes…esp in the summer.

    I do, however, love this sweater. It looks so soft and comfy. Also, great photos!
