I feel like this outfit is not complete without a baguette or croissant or something to help me fulfill my Parisian chic dreams. But we aren’t here to talk about my love of carbs or all things French-cool-girl. Today I’m talking about a way to maximize some of last year’s sweaters in your closet!
Fun fact: this isn’t really a dress. It’s a long turtleneck sweater that I’ve belted for a makeshift dress. I’m 5’7″ (commonly asked so it’s actually in my FAQ!), so I don’t have many sweaters I can do this with. However if you’re on the more petite side, you’re in big luck, sister!
I think the best way to balance out something short in the colder fall/winter months is with some tall boots and/or stockings. Or you could wear leggings and booties – your call.

sweater – Design History, I think this one and this one would be fab belted too! | blazer – Forever21 (old) love this one and this one | bag | beret – from high school, love this one and this one | similar belt here and here | boots – Stuart Weitzman, love these and these, similar look for less here
Below are some additional picks for sweaters that I think would be great worn as dresses (and some actually are sweater dresses).
Thanks so much for reading, and let me know if you would try this trend! XO –
You look amazing! I’m only 5’0” so I usually avoid such large sweaters, but I am definitely going to try this trick!
Parisienne chic! You are looking super cute in this perfectly styled outfit! 🙂

Love the outfit. Literally cozy chic. Did you take these photos super early in the morning–where are all the people? Haha! Great post as always. — Samantha, http://www.vegancrueltyfree.com
Love this look! Just everything about is a total yes! I love and live in big sweaters and tall boots so seeing how you accessorized yours up inspired me to get creative with mine. Just lovely!

I LOVE hearing that. It’s all about versatility and playing in your own closet!
I’m 5’6″ and agree, really long sweaters are hard to come by. But you pulled this off ‘tres joliment’!!! But of course, that’s the only way you’re able to do it! Ciao Bella

Love it! Wearing just sweaters with jeans or leggings can get kind of repetitive after awhile so this is a great tip to change it up. Nothing beats a sweater paired with your favorite boots
