sweater with fur sleeves

Sometimes you put on an outfit and you just feel like, “this is so me.”  And that’s how I feel about this ensemble.

I was recently interviewed for a podcast (will share with you guys when it’s live!) and was asked about my style changing as we moved from the South to California and back to the South.  And while I am absolutely inspired by my surroundings, I’ve slowly combines all of the unique styles of those places and have found a balance that feels like I’m presenting on the outside who I feel I am on the inside.  In fact, that’s entirely what fashion is to me.  Using clothing and accessories to show others on presentation alone who you are.

A little glam (the sweater), a little edgy (the pants) and sleek and an understated sass (stilettos and bag) that feels playful yet confident.  This time of year you can add leather pants or a leather jacket to so many looks and achieve the same kind of vibe.

I love warm weather but man, layering brings the fashions!!!!  I linked more statement sweaters, leather pants and faux leather pants that I’ve found online at the bottom of this post.

  1. Hi! I have enjoyed reading your blog in the past but wearing fox fur is really disappointing – there are so many amazing faux options. Thanks for listening!

    1. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. While this sweater was gifted to me, I do own some vintage fur (most of which are treasured pieces handed down from grandparents) and genuine leather pieces in addition to faux, and I know it’s not for everyone and absolutely understand and respect that.

  2. I am excited to hear the podcast, following you cross country I have wondered how you feel your environment impacts your style. We have moved quite a bit and I can definitely look back and see myself adjusting to my surroundings. But from the outside looking in it seemed that you were comfortable in your skin and rocked your look wherever you were—which I love. Your confident and unique choices are one of the reasons I follow your blog.

    1. That is so incredibly kind – thank you so much Jessica!! I’m always inspired by my surroundings, and as you very much know, depending on where you’re living it can be a little more classic, edgy, sleek or beachy. I really appreciate your support and this feedback! xoxo
