As someone who spent many years abiding by office dress codes, I always want to provide some office inspiration to help CBL girls feel comfortable, confident and conservative both in and out of the office.
If you search “office appropriate,” you’ll find many outfits that I thought would work for corporate gals. This look would be another one to add to that list! Just because you have to follow dress codes doesn’t mean you can’t look fabulous and incorporate some seasonal trends.
This cashmere sweater dress is a part of one of the new fall styles from Polo Ralph Lauren, and I already know it can be styled so many different ways. I consider a classic silhouette and fit like this one to be timeless and extremely versatile. It looks chic on its own. If you want to mix it up, you can also belt it with a blazer or sweater! You could wear booties, sneakers or boots with this dress also.
I wanted to show you guys how to pair it with and without a layering piece to show a glimpse of some of the versatility. And it must be mentioned that I’m so in love with this blazer for fall. SO schoolgirl chic and I am here for it.
Don’t forget you can always belt outerwear. It’s a great way to mix things up while still giving yourself that hourglass silhouette!

I adore the leopard boots but you don’t say where they’re from ?!
This post is sponsored by Polo Ralph Lauren so the product focus is on their pieces! These are the booties – they’re also linked in several looks in “shop my instagram!” XO
Love ♥️ the little leopard boots accent … so chic!

Thank you so much for office friendly posts. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good ripped jean and off the shoulder sweater. But I’m currently at my office in black dress pants, a black shell with a grey cardigan. Five days a week I’m in office clothes and by the time I get home I usually change into more lounge/athleisure clothes. So I love when posts show something I can wear during the week!
This time of the year I love finding dresses that I can wear with tights and boots.
Thank you so much for this feedback, Jennifer! I love hearing what kind of looks are most helpful to CBL girls so hearing this really helps me plan looks for my girls. Appreciate you!
Love the dress in black but also in the deep grey. Very versatile and forgiving if you go up or down a few pounds during the holidays, or maybe that is just ME! Love the collar of the blazer too.
I don’t work in an office setting and still would wear this outfit! Gorgeous fall look!

I love these boots! Do you think they’d work with a black midi skirt and chunky sweater?
Absolutely! I’ve been seriously wearing them with everything – jeans, cropped jeans, dresses, skirts – they make everything more fun!
Love the whole look! x

Thank you so much for this post, Kathleen! I work in a corporate office setting and am mostly in black, grey and other neutral colors for the better part of the week. I love the length of this dress — you’ll never have to worry about it not staying in the right place! Thanks for posting some office-chic wear! Definitely going to try this out.
Thank you so much for this feedback Nina! And YES, I love a midi for work – looks great with flats or heels and always appropriate!
