I love these basic fall essentials for the next few months – solid neutrals are my go to with great statement accessories like a fringe bag or chunky necklace. Love!
Grey and camel have become my favorite neutral seasonal colors, even more so than black believe it or not. I am trying to introduce more navy into my wardrobe, and I’ve started out with this cute bag.
What are some of the pieces you’re looking to snag this fall? I recently splurged on these boots, but I think these are a great alternative!
The breeze has gotten a little cooler here in Southern California, but it’s definitely not bundling weather yet. I’m bringing out some new fall pieces to incorporate with cooler pieces – like this cashmere scarf and Sofft booties (this pair comes in three colors!) with my everyday denim shorts and Bella Dahl top.
I’m actually really into denim shorts with over-the-knee boots too… do y’all think I’m crazy? I think paired with a big sweater it looks so cute! Plus it’s great for those of us who live places that don’t get super cold. Seriously. Beach days in February are not uncommon here!
– a mild obsession with our new sofa, full post coming soon! –
– coming home to snuggles with my favorite three-legged girl –
– unveiling of my custom heels from Shoes of Prey – so fab! –
– mornings with the doors open, fresh air pouring in and pumpkin accents –
– having dinner with the beautiful and talented Kristen Taekman and being so excited to try out her new polish collection! –
Thank you to everyone who followed around my NYFW adventures on Instagram and Snapchat (CBLied)! It was such an inspiring week and I felt so privileged to be a part of it. I was fortunate to see the Rebecca Vallance and Rachel Zoe presentations and the Marissa Webb, Mara Hoffman, Betsey Johnson, Monique Lhuillier, Lela Rose, Nicole Miller and Sherri Hill runway shows. I tried to snap each one so all of you could experience it with me!
I was actually seated front row for two shoes and second row for two shows (I felt seriously #blessed), and there was a moment when like a sappy, starry-eyed fashion lover, I had a big lump in my throat. If you had told me five years ago when I was in Mississippi that I would be sitting at runway shows, representing my blog (of which I never thought more than 15 people would read and I was totally fine with it), I would laugh with disbelief. I still have butterflies when I think about how fulfilling this blog is to me and how much it means to me that you guys check in each day to experience this journey with me. Thank you thank you thank you for all of your support and love – truly. I’m on a cloud!
Before I change tunes, check out this amazing video my mom and sister sent me where one designer replaced runway models with role models. Definitely made me a little teary – how incredible for this designer to recognize some seriously inspirational women.
We have some of our dearest friends from college (and from childhood for Christian) coming in town this weekend from Virginia. We are going to go on a little California road trip – Yosemite, Napa, Sonoma, Santa Barbara, and then we’ll drop them off at LAX and Christian and I will enjoy some quality time in Malibu. I feel like I just got home – but this is going to be such a fun trip with old friends!
What are you guys up to this weekend? Who has some nice, cool fall weather? We’ve had a few cool days and its been glorious. Thanks so much for reading! XO –
Our first morning in the city we saw the Rebecca Vallance presentation (seriously would wear every single piece – adored) and had brunch with Oasis Clothing at Sarabeth’s in Tribeca. I absolutely loved the way this red skirt floated in the breeze on the overcast day, and it’s a skirt I know will look so fab with over-the-knee boots and a sweater come fall.
And as if that’s not enough, this cobblestone street was the icing on the cake! Not so easy to walk on but so beautiful and unique to downtown Manhattan. I love it.

When I first heard about our Cabo trip, I knew I wanted to visit Flora Farm. It’s a bit of a drive from where we were staying, but I had seen so many photos of this beautiful spot, and if it’s good enough for Adam Levine to get married, then I knew it had to be phenom!
We were given a private tour of the grounds and then were seated for dinner while listening to live music under bistro lights. I never wanted to leave! It it truly such a beautiful place to dine if you are ever in the area – I can’t recommend it enough!
When we were in Mexico we teamed up with Blue Sky Cabo for the most incredible sunset boat ride to see The Arch. While Christian grew up boating casually here and there with his family, I definitely didn’t, so I still get so excited to see all the boats and yachts on the Newport Harbor when we paddleboard. I couldn’t stop thinking about him when we were cruisin’ around, and now I can’t wait to go back to take him on the same sunset cruise – maybe one of the most romantic experiences I’ve had with a crew of girlfriends!
That being said, if my guy couldn’t be there, I can’t think of a better group of friends to experience this with. I love this group of girls so much and am so thankful for the Internet being able to bring me together with a group of friends I would have never otherwise met. In fact, we are all currently in New York for Fashion Week together! Love ’em, and so very thankful for a group of ambitious women who continue to support each other and encourage each other. That can sometimes be hard to find, so I most definitely don’t take it for granted.
A big thank you to Blue Sky Cabo for this amazing experience – I will definitely be back.
And to those of you fancy pants people who grew up sailing and boating – indulge me. I want to hear about your favorite experience! Thanks so much for reading – XO
You know you’re a blogger gal when you pass a set of fabulous doors and practically yell, “stop the car!” There were many oohs and aahs when we passed these beautiful doors and Cabo yet again reminded me to make a mental note to step out of my comfort zone with doors whenever we own a home.
This floral maxi dress is the perfect kind of maxi to wear barefoot in the cobblestone streets, sandals in hand, exploring the town. These photos just make me want to pack a bag and head back to Mexico!
When I saw the back of this maxi dress, I knew it had to be mine. I love a low-back or backless maxi dress, and maxi dresses are actually one of Christian’s favorite things I wear. I am forever grateful for that because I find them so comfortable and perfect for getaways when I want to look stylish but feel comfortable enough for any adventure. Lucky for you guys – this dress is currently marked down to only $25!
I felt this beauty needed an easy belt to pull everything together, and this simple belt has been my go-to for belting all kinds of dresses this summer. I also think this dress would look so cute with a chambray shirt knotted at the waist!

It might still feel like summer, but when September rolls around, out come the ankle boots, scarves and vests. This sleeveless trench (similar style worn here and here) is such a perfect piece for me because it brings in the fall vibes without making me schvitz like cray.
For example, when Christian snapped these photos this weekend we were having a heat wave and it was a breezy… 98 degrees. No big deal. I’ve worn a similar look before with strappy sandals during summer, but pairing this look with this sleek Isola ankle boots definitely takes this look to a transitional fall ensemble, and it makes me want to light a pumpkin scented candle and watch Ole Miss football.
I can’t believe I just said that. Clearly I’m getting carried away, there’s no way I really meant that.

Are you guys also addicted to the sleeveless trench and ankle boots? I have a vintage Burberry trench but I find myself wearing this one 10x more, go figure. Thanks so much for reading! XO –
I can’t believe Labor Day is this weekend, whaaaaat!? As much as I’d like to say I’m going to be spending it at the pool, I actually will be spending it trying to pack my entire closet into a suitcase for New York Fashion Week. So today I put together a fun wish list for those of you that are planning to spend some time in the sun!
There are some seriously great sales going on for swimwear for any of you looking to snag a great swimsuit for next summer – so I would definitely get on that. I also recently spotted this bag and couldn’t believe how cute it was for the affordable price – summer steal!
Tell me what your weekend plans are – I’d love to hear! Maybe it will make me ditch my packing to catch some rays. Thanks so much for reading! XO –
One of my favorite things about our trip to Cabo was oodling over all of the interesting homes and even better – the adorable doors in the neighborhood! I mean… it made me realize how uncreative I am when it comes to front doors. There were all kinds of arches, knobs, colors, textures, sizes… some were so tiny I only wished Christian had been there to limbo his 6’3″ body through it. This would have brought me great joy.
I borrowed this adorbs romper from my girlfriend Krystal and I should have snatched it behind her back to take back home to California because it’s the cutest! I think it’s just as cute with an open, loose linen shirt and flip flops by the pool.
