I just saw these shearling slides for the first time and LOVE them. I have these (but they’re shearling-lined), which are similar, and I wear them all the time.

I have this cashmere henley in the grey/cream color and love it. It’s a piece I hope to wear for years to come.

I bought and wore this turtleneck dress from Amazon when I was pregnant with Theo and it’s really so cute. This is reminding me to pull it back out this year! I also saw this top and pant set on another influencer and am very interested.

This salve is serious moisture for chapped lips in cold weather. I keep one tube in my car and it’s simply the best.

I am very into these parachute pants. They are fun, they look comfortable and versatile. Win!

Last year I shared a little walk-through of Halloween decorations, so this year I wanted to do the same! Truthfully, I originally took these photos on my iPhone but when I was uploading them here… they just weren’t cutting it. And dare I say it felt good to pull out my giant DSLR. It reminded me of the good ol’ days… except way less time efficient, ha!

I think a little can go a long way when it comes to adding seasonal touches… except for Christmas. I think Christmas is worth going all out for.

Each Halloween I add one or two things, and this year it was the black twinkle lights. SO worth it, and a really fun preview to the holidays ahead. I think I want one of these yard skeletons for next year.

Fall weddings… only the best time to have a wedding (says the girl who got married in early November). But seriously – wedding guest attire is always top of mind for my CBL gals. I’ve learned in the past 10 or so years that to some, wearing red to a wedding is a faux pas. What do you guys think!? I think it’s totally fine. I love all brides, but girl… we can only rule out so many colors for your wedding. White and ivory are out, the other color wheel options are IN. But that’s just my opinion (said in Tamra Judge voice)!

This dress is a splurge but wow. WOW. I would wear this to both a wedding and then save it for NYE.

I also love all the feather accents out right now. This dress is giving center of the dance floor.

Another splurge are these nude strappy sandals. But let me tell you… I have them in 3 colors and have worn them year after year after year. They look great with everything.

I love these earrings. They’re like little fireworks dangling from your ears!

This dress is so chic. If you are comfortable in bodycon, I can’t imagine a better dress.

Lastly, if you’re going to a black-tie wedding, this is your dress. So classic!

This week I bought our first few pumpkins along with two huge purple mums… HOORAY! We pulled out some of my fall kitchen favorites, like my Staub ceramic mini pumpkins for sneaks of candy.

I’ve been putting some indoor things out, like Hector of course, but I’m not going to plan on going full-on Halloween until October 1st!

I bought this skeleton a few years ago and it remains the highlight of each October. We named him Hector, we move him around the house, and last year I bought him a little skeleton parrot friend.

I love this ceramic pumpkin bowl. How cute!

I remember seeing these exact pumpkins last year and I almost bought them. I still love them… do we need!?

We have two of these and I arrange them going up the staircase wall. They are so fun and super easy to put out, using their bendable arms to wrap around things.

I love these throw pillows. If I bring one more pillow into this house, I’ll never hear the end of it. But YOU should indulge!

I am thrilled to see my favorite towels and sheets included in this sale. We almost exclusively use these products in our bedrooms and bathrooms. Saying that I love them doesn’t even begin to express my feelings.

I’ve been using (and loving) Elemis ever since I first discovered it in London in my 20’s. My friend got me hooked on the cleansing balm and she’s right, it’s perfection.

Puffer vests are the layering accessory for those of us out West or down South… some extra warmth for cold months but not too much. I have the longsleeved version and I have loved it for years. Both sporty and sleek. A&F on sale is the ideal way to go, also with denim!

When it comes to putting together a game day outfit (especially if you’re a college graduate), I typically aim for dressing in pieces from my own closet that show school spirit but weren’t necessarily purchased solely for the game. It just makes more sense cost-per-wear to me to invest in pieces I love that I can’t only wear to football games, you know?

Lucky for me, Georgia (where we live) is red and black, meanwhile, Ole Miss (where we went to school) is red and blue/powder blue. All easy colors to incorporate.

Etsy is the spot for themed earrings, handbag straps, headbands, and sweatshirts. So fun!

Red Dress Boutique is full of really cute red and black pieces. I seriously love this sweatshirt and matching sweat shorts, but I truly don’t need it. But SO CUTE. The sweatshirt would also look great with denim, as would this top or this shirt.

I recently got this camisole and matching wrap mini skirt and can’t wait to wear it to a game. In fact… I might wear it to this weekend’s game. Another one that looks great together or separately!

I just got this top from Amazon in the powder blue color and it’s so pretty. Can’t wait to wear it.

Lastly… I’m not a huge sneakers gal but if you’re going to be walking miles and miles… really consider your shoes. I wore comfortable, broken-in sandals two weeks ago and my feet were aching by the end of the day.

This necklace is so beautiful and a great buy if you want that tennis necklace look for less. You can see a photo of it styled below.

I just got this little crossbody bag and it is too cute. Such a great size – photo below.

I recently left these beautiful sunglasses at the pool and was so sure I’d never see them again. However, some honest person turned them into lost & found and I got them back! I hope some good karma comes to that kind and honest person.

I love love love this underwear. I like the french briefs and hipster versions as well. They are my everyday seamless underwear that is one size fits all. It’s magic. I will never understand it.

On that note, I have two of these bras and have loved hearing that you guys are as addicted as I am. So smooth, no wire, mega comfortable. And $31.50! I also really love their plunge version.

I love this workout top. I have it in black and I should also snag the white.

I just got these linen shorts (TTS) and love them. A realistic short for women who don’t want to go short short.

I was influenced to buy this striped half-zip sweater from Amazon, and I’ve already worn it so much. You can see it styled here and here. Truthfully, I do think it’s a little overpriced for the quality… but I still find myself reaching for it over and over again.

The best and softest pajamas. I have four pairs.

I LOVE the classic fit of this denim (TTS). They’re so flattering and look great with a short heel. You can see them on below. They’re currently on sale!

This dress is on clearance and while still a little bit of a splurge, I’m hoping it will carry me into early fall. It’s really beautiful and looks great with flats or heels.

It was so fun putting together this fall trend report in ’21, that this year I wanted to put together another one to get us excited about what’s ahead. Let’s get into the fall 2023 fashion trends that I’m excited about!

Oversized coats, sweaters, and blazers are everywhere. I love that they offer both comfort and a bold statement. Feels like a win-win to women everywhere, ladies am I right!? Loving this one.

Mixing and matching textures has always been a way to level up your look. Trying combining faux fur, leather (or faux leather), wool with softer elements like silk, satin and denim.

Menswear-inspired looks are everywhere, and as a #blazers4ever kind of gal, I’m loving it. I can’t stop wearing this white vest top (I know it’s a splurge, but it’s honestly perfect), and I ordered these pleated high-waist shorts to wear for the remainder of summer. I know that I can transition both to early fall by mixing and matching!

Shearling-lined jackets, vests and boots. A sherling accent helps to add texture play, and is always a cozy pick. I was hoping to add a shearling piece to my closet this fall and coincidentally I just placed an order for one en route that is part of an influencer friend’s collection launching soon! I’m loving this one too.

2023 peplum

Peplum redefined – I love a peplum moment. I am so excited that this moment is coming back, and I love how it creates an hourglass shape. I like how this year’s version is a little bit longer, looser, and cooler. I love a peplum top with a mini skirt like this outfit, or a peplum top paired with looser denim.

I took a week off of website content last week while we were in Hilton Head, so I wanted to dive back in this week with a back-to-school-themed post filled with the kinds of pieces I wear week in and week out.

I have gone back and forth about whether or not to buy these for at least three weeks. I originally ordered the pink and orange pair, and they sent me the wrong size. By the time I called them to tell them of their mistake, my size had sold out. So I just had to send them back. These are on preorder… so I guess we’ll see what size I end up with!

I bought these shorts (they run true to size), and I love them. They are so comfortable and look great with both heels and flats.

My friend has this shirt and I love it on her so much. It is so chic, and I ended up buying it in both white and navy.

I got this shirt on final sale (true to size), and I really like the fit! It’s stretchy and both loose and fitted in all the right places. I don’t think it’s worth the full price but I definitely think it’s worth the sale price!

I am so tempted to buy this oversized shirt dress from Amazon. I saw it on someone on tik tok and it looked SO cute.

A bodysuit or tee and 100% cotton denim is a daytime go-to for me. It’s always been classic, and it will always be clean.

amazon best buys 2023

In thinking of this week’s wish list coverage, I wanted to pivot to best buys. I always love reading people’s best purchases – across the map. I want to see a mix of all the random things that make your life better and/or easier!

So below you’ll find my best buys from Amazon of 2o23… for at least the first half of the year. More info is below the collage!

When it comes to workout clothes, Amazon really has it going on. Some of my most worn workout tops are this one, this one and this one (love the contrast piping).

Another area that I go to Amazon a lot for these days is trendy sunglasses like this pair and this pair. When you have a baby that likes to take your sunglasses off, put them on their own face, throw them in the pool, etc… it is much less stressful to know your shades cost $10.

When I realized I was going to have a step stool in our powder room for probably the next five years, I bought a nicer-looking once that is also translucent so it doesn’t make the already small powder room feel smaller. No regrets!

These tassels look so expensive and they’re $9. I don’t know how, but I have them in our living room and dining room and they add so much to cabinet knobs or lamps.

The two sweaters I REALLY love from Amazon that I discovered this year are this cardigan (I have in 3 colors) and this striped half zip. Both look great on or draped over your shoulders for that classicly chic clean girl aesthetic.

These are the only Spode Blue Italian plates that I have, but I’ve been so tempted to expand the collection because I love them so much. They really make any meal look just a little bit prettier.

easy happy hacks

A while ago I shared some simple hacks I incorporate to make life a hint sweeter. You guys then shared so many of your own amazing happy hacks, and it was so fun to get even more ideas for things to bring moments of joy throughout our day, even if small.

Today we’re diving into a third round of your submitted hacks. They’re so good!

Walk around the block before and after work.

10-15 minute walk outside after the kids are asleep.

Friday family movie nights with popcorn.

“Don’t delay joy.” Watch the show! Take the bath! Eat the treat!

Taking 10 minutes in the AM with coffee/tea to sit outside and watch and listen to the birds.

When I order something online, I always include a little gift note to myself like, “you deserve this!”

Putting a dab of Vaseline on wrists and neck before spraying perfume so it lasts longer.

Get a mirror ball and put it next to your window. You get room sparkles every time the sun hits it!

I do this in my office with a mirrored disco ball! – KB

Sleeping in the guest room when you don’t want a roommate, aka your spouse.

Take a quick shower before a bubble bath, and put a hair mask in. Extra luxurious!

Making fruit-flavored ice cubes for a delicious afternoon-infused water.

Special perfume on Friday before work… going into the weekend perfume!

I keep a perfume roller in my purse for touch-ups throughout the day.

Change up your work spot. Sit outside for a power hour of tasks or calls.

1)  I looked around locally for some indoor tabletop topiaries and couldn’t find any. Believe it or not, when I can find a particular plant variety, I go to Etsy. I used some birthday money to buy two of these small topiaries and one large one. I am LOVING them.

2)  It’s been so interesting watching these plants grow in our outdoor Lettuce Grow. I’m trying to let it work on filling out before clipping much from it… but I think this might be the week I start using the chives and arugula.

3)  I recently found this gal on YouTube and loved watching her use her design expertise while thrifting. Hearing about the sections of stores she goes to is really fascinating, and it inspired me to pop into Habitat ReStore and Goodwill. I found a basket, marble pedestal bowl, tervis tumbler and bathroom trash can for a total of $11. Honestly, it was a thrill.

4)  Two weekends ago I had a few hours of time to kill and ended up rearranging some of the artwork in our house. I wanted all of our paintings to be on the main level where we spend the most time, and I am so glad I did. When you first move into a space and start hanging/storing your things, sometimes it’s not necessarily the best placement once you learn the rhythms of your space.

Every now and then when I rearrange pieces, I’m really reminded of that.

5)  I am going to be so blue when And Just Like That is over. Episode 9 of 11 aired this week and I look forward to it SO much. The first season had a lot of grief and melancholy, while this season is a return to cheerful Carrie and feels like such a companion to SATC. I have been a fan of this series for as long as I can remember, so it’s been such a treat to see new stories for this cast of characters we feel we know as our own friends.

If you’re a SATC or AJLT fan, I can’t recommend The Writer’s Room podcast enough. I might even enjoy it more than the show. It’s the writers that have made this brand so enticing, and hearing all their commentary is so entertaining.
