In November of 2023, a house became available on the market that I felt we would regret if we didn’t take a look. I knew we wanted to have another child, and the house for sale checked a lot of boxes that our previous home didn’t.
By December… we had sold our house and closed on this house. It happened really fast! But we’ve now been in this house for six months, and I haven’t regretted our choice once. This new space suits our families’ needs, and I know when our third child joins us in September, we’ll feel even more settled. I’m sharing a peek into some of the more “finished” rooms so far… but everything still feels like a work in progress. I hope we will be here for a long time, so I am trying to be patient to make sure we are making the best long-term choices for this family home.
Buying a home is a big feat and it can feel overwhelming and time-consuming. Especially on top of the chaos of regular day-to-day life! Anything that simplifies the process is helpful, and Opendoor allows you to buy and sell real estate online from your own device at home.
For sellers, you can skip all the hassles of listing and showing your house, close it, and get paid in just a matter of days. You can even pick your close date to what works best for your timeline.
For buyers, the price you see is the price you pay. There are no bidding wars or losing to other buyers. Through the Opendoor app, you can tour available homes on your schedule without a scheduled appointment, and you can unlock the door right from your app!
Have you been considering a move lately? I’d love to hear who is in the market! Check out Opendoor.com and let me know what you think. I’ve been having some fun perusing over there.
Thank you so much for checking in and reading! More home content coming soon – xo –

Today and tomorrow are Amazon Prime Day! There are some great grabs this year, but only if you’ve already wanted it. Don’t go crazy – this “Christmas in July” situation with all of these sales right now feels a little over the top!
Below are some things I think would be great additions, including items I have and vouch for. To shop, click on the item or find its associated number/name below the collage.
Today is the first day of public access to the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! Apologies that I didn’t get this up earlier, I was out of town over the weekend and had a birthday so remember – this sale lasts until August 4th. It’s a marathon, not a sprint!
I wanted to share my favorites in a few different categories – let’s get started:
The sun is out, the temperature is reflecting summer (I have mixed feelings about this heat), and I have my mind on some summer items that help me get into the state of mind.

A few recent things I’ve bought from Amazon – I just ordered this mini cocktail side table and have high hopes. I also bought this little tray for our powder room sink area. I am SO excited to get these net ballet flats in, really hoping they’re as chic in person as they look online. I have two of these rechargeable mini lamps, and I agree with my hostess expert friend Theresa, everyone needs a few.
In 2020 I asked for different outdoor games for my birthday (in July). We got bocce ball and croquet, which are so fun to play with the kids. Even Hudson has gotten the hang of bocce, and he’s not half bad! I think this ladder ball looks pretty fun too.
I recently got these sunglasses and I can’t say enough good things about the brand. I have pairs that are several years old and they feel brand new. Timeless and FUN styles!
I also have these earrings, and I live in them. They’re both simple and cool, also going with nearly everything.
Thank you so much for checking in and reading! xo –

This isn’t the first time that I’ve shared that I now own this dress in 4 colors and this one in 3 colors. I can’t get over how classic, versatile and low-priced they are. And I always say that solids and stripes can stand the test of time.
I believe all of these dresses are under $50. Some are on sale for as low as $15!
And this linen-blend midi dress looks so perfect for every day. I also love this one in orange for a pop of color – both are on sale right now.
Have any of you bought anything from Old Navy recently? I have been joking that this is going to be the summer brought to you by Old Navy, but I’m impressed!
Thanks so much for reading and sharing – XO –

I have been seeing so many cute things at great prices lately (hello Old Navy – talking to you), so I wanted to round up a list of summer picks under $150.
Granted, a lot of these items are even under $50 (!!), but let’s get into it. Click on the item or find its associated number below the collage –
The response was so tender and sweet. I am beyond touched by so many beautiful things you guys have shared with me. Christian and I are both one of three children (he is the middle and I am the youngest), and I think we always left a little space for one more child.
The boys will be 2.5 and 4 (almost 5!) when their sibling is born… so I’m biting off more than I can chew, but my sincere hope is that we will have a few foggy years of full hands and then their closeness in age will pay off as they get older.
My brother, sister and I are two years apart, making for some really fun childhood memories and tight adult relationships. We tend to go through life stages around the same time and that has built camaraderie that feels unique and special. I’m grateful my parents did that for us, even though I’m sure they were exhausted when we were little!
We are so thankful the Lord has trusted us with another Barnes baby, and after around many months of serious fatigue and nausea, I’m really starting to feel a lot better! I’m now almost halfway there, and while I may not be feeling as great as I did with Hudson, I do feel better than I did with Theo. So I’ll take it!
Thank you so much for experiencing all of these precious life milestones alongside us. I can’t express in words how supported and loved I have felt through many of my life’s peaks and valleys. As well as realizing that so many of you have been experiencing similar things as well. It’s the most interesting and cool feeling, and I am endlessly grateful.

1 | The first spring/summer in a new house is always so fascinating. We are spending a full year observing the exterior landscape of this house, watching what blooms and deciding what we want to do in the years following. It’s so exciting seeing what all we have in this new yard!
3 | I started watching Under the Bridge on Hulu and this show is crazy. Based on both a book and a true story. Worth a watch.
4 | It’s the month of wallpaper! We got our dining room wallpapered last week and today we are having the powder room wallpapered in this Pepper Home paper. That should be the extent of the wallpaper, so I’m excited to start enjoying it!
5 | I’m heading out of town on a work trip this weekend. Last year I went on a work trip in June, and it was so refreshing and rejuvenating for me. It made me realize how beneficial going on a solo trip once a year can be, and Christian totally supported it. I will be back mid-week, but I’m going somewhere I’ve never been. Looking forward to sharing more details!
Thank you so much for checking in and reading. I hope everyone has a beautiful weekend! xo –
